The InterDesign Real Wood is not 100% made of wood as you think when you’ve heard the word “RealWood” on its name. The over-the-showerhead shower caddy is a combination of both with metal serving its base frame while wood is fixed on the basket’s front to serve as an accent. The frame is bronze-colored and is said to be rustproof.
You might think that having a wooden material in a damp and humid place such as a bathroom might be a bad idea because nasty stuff may grow from it or it may decompose. Well, that may happen is some low-quality wooden shower caddies, but not with the InterDesign Real Wood. The InterDesign Real Wood is available in five amazing color options – Grey, Light Wood, Rose Wood, Teak, and Walnut. Of all the color options, the Walnut and Teak options look the best. Choose the lighter tones if you have a dark colored bathroom to serve as an accent or contrast piece, and vice versa, choose the darker tones if you have a lighter colored bathroom.
The InterDesign RealWood has the usual “two shelves and a soap holder at the bottom” arrangement of a typical over-the-showerhead shower caddy. A good thing to note is that the lower shelf is slightly more spacious to accommodate your large shower essential bottles. The InterDesign Real Wood also has the normal hooks to hold your loofahs and other bathroom essentials that come with a strap.
However, and what’s not normal is that the InterDesign RealWood has non-slip showerhead grip to prevent it from falling off your showerhead. Mix and match it with other Real Wood bathroom solutions, and you’ve got yourself a spa-like bathroom where you can start your day prepped up or end your day relaxed. Just make sure you get your accents right. Remember, the color of the RealWood pieces that you’ll get should be a contrast to the dominant color of your bathroom.
- Surprisingly affordable. Other wooden shower caddies don’t even come close to the affordability of the InterDesign Real Wood, take the AquaTeak Organizer and the Umbra Shamboo for example. Maybe because it’s just part wood and primarily metal, but even if it’s just that, the InterDesign RealWood still has elements of a wooden shower caddy. If you want a wooden over-the-showerhead shower caddy (or at least parts of it are wooden) that is a little more budget friendly compared to other wooden shower caddies, the InterDesign Real Wood is a great buy.

- Shelves are off centered. A verified Amazon review praised that the InterDesign Real Wood’s stability coming from its non-slip grip and suction cups are noteworthy, but commented on the angle of the shelves. The Amazon review said and quoting – “stays up in the shower well, but the shelves are unbelievable. As in when you look directly at the shower caddy, it seems like it’s off-centered, but it’s just how the shelves were built. I’m pretty upset about it but other than that it’s fine and works ok. Just confusing to me that they would build something like that.”
Taking into consideration the pros and cons, the InterDesign RealWood is rated five out of five stars overall. It’s a great design piece for your bathroom, and it’s surprisingly affordable, so what’s to fret about? Although there has been a lone review about the angle of the over-the-showerhead shower caddy’s shelves, there hasn’t been a lot of reviews on it either.
