Overall Rating
Just when you think that Metro Décor has manufactured every shower caddy type possible from over-the-showerhead ones to over-the-door, along comes the mDesign Bath Tote. While not that special compared to the other shower totes reviewed on this website, the mDesign Bath Tote has that certain feel to it because you know it is a part of a diverse product line made by a prominent manufacturer in the home organization space.
As mentioned time and time again in Shower Caddies INFO, the worth of a shower tote cannot be measured if you’re just using it inside your home. But instead, the true worth of shower totes comes out in times where you have to stay in a property with a shared bathroom and when hand carrying your shower essentials seems so unpractical. Also, shower totes are extremely useful when you travel a lot, and you don’t want to place your shower essentials just anywhere inside the bathroom where God knows what it’s been through.
The mDesign Bath Tote has four storage compartments in which three equally divided ones are located on one side while there is one spacious compartment on the other which is clearly intended for your bottled shower essentials. The plastic shower caddy is also made of durable materials and has nifty drainage holes and a handle for portability. Additionally, and maybe a less of importance for some, the mDesign Bath Tote’s is only available in a light gray color.
Aside from those mentioned above, there’s nothing much else to say or write about the mDesign Bath Tote other than it is available in two different sizes. There is the 6 x 9.75 x 6.75-inch variant (Variant A), which was the one with four compartments in the above paragraph, and there is the 14.5 x 7 x 5.75-inch variant (Variant B).
Classification | Dimensions (in.) | Weight (lbs.) | Latest Price |
---|---|---|---|
Shower Tote | 06.00 x 09.75 x 06.75 | 00.90 | VIEW AT AMAZON |
For just a few couple of dollars more, you can get the 14.5 x 7 x 5.75 variant which has 11 differently-sized storage compartments instead of four. The mDesign Bath Tote Variant B has lower walls compared to Variant A which makes it look like more of a medical caddy used by nurses in a hospital (actually, all shower totes can double as a medical caddy). As stated, the plastic shower caddy’s Variant B also has the same features as its Variant A counterpart – made of durable plastic and has nifty drainage holes and a handle for portability.
We’ll keep the pros and cons of the mDesign Bath Tote short and simple, just like any other shower tote review on this website, because, well, there is nothing much to tell about these types of caddies and their features don’t greatly differ from brand to brand.
mDesign Bath Tote Pro
The pro below is based on curated and verified customer reviews on Amazon.com; what is written below is in no way sponsored or paid for by Metro Décor.
- Two options. The shower tote has one pro compared to the other plastic shower caddy reviewed, the InterDesign Orbz, – the mDesign Bath Tote has two versions to choose from which leads to more freedom in choosing one that’s suited to your current needs. For example, if you like to organize your shower essentials into more classified groups like one for hair care, another for oral care, and a dedicated one for body care, the mDesign Bath Tote is for you.
mDesign Bath Tote Con
Likewise, the con or negatives on the plastic shower caddy are based on curated and verified Amazon.com reviews; it is in no way sponsored or paid for by Metro Décor.
- Too small (?). On the flip side, the mDesign Bath Tote has one con based on particular verified Amazon customer reviews – the product is “too small to be a good shower caddy”. Yes, the product small. But in hindsight, that’s the characteristic of shower totes that makes it different from other shower caddies. Shower totes are supposed to be small, so you could bring it easily back and forth from your room to a shared bathroom and so you could, as also one positive customer review said, fit the tote inside your bag. But if the smallness of the mDesign Bath Tote is indeed a factor for you, then its “smallness” is indeed a con.
Overall, the mDesign Bath Tote, like all other shower totes reviewed on the website, is rated five out of five stars overall with the reason being it’s, well, “simple perfectness” and the ability to choose between to options. Its con, the smallness factor, is not much of a con really, it’s just really based on preference.
